Putting On My Running Shoes

As of today, I am going to start running in addition to my doing SB. I am determined (yes, determined) to get as much of this excess weight off before the holidays as I possibly can. I have enlisted Ariana and Tim to stay on me about keeping up with this. They are both to make me feel terrible if I do not run at least 4 times a week. It is a 2 mile stretch around my block so I figure that will be a good place to (try to) start. Ariana has told me that 2 weeks from today I will actually come to enjoy running (this I am still a bit skeptical about) and look forward to it rather than dread it. This means that on November 27th, I will want to go running?

Sadly enough, I am told I must wear tennis shoes to run and not my trusty Reefs. Now I actually have to look to see if I can even find my tennis shoes! I think they are packed in my “I Never Wear These Shoes” box somewhere. It’s amazing that I even own a pair. It’s been years since I’ve worn any sort of tennis shoe I believe. This should be quite the sight! Maybe I’ll have Tim take a picture of me tonight so that everyone believes me because I wouldn’t believe me either without seeing it for myself! Me! Running! In Tennis Shoes! Oh my…

Yes, I actually do realize how sad and pathetic this sounds…but if I indeed stick with this (as I intend to) then I will share with everyone the article that motivated me to start running. Right now, I want to keep that private because it’s silly and I need all the encouragement I can get!

I’m feel as if I am going into uncharted territory here….you may want to pray for me!

  1. trust me, its awesome! You just gotta get up and do it, you’ve never heard a person say “gee, I wish I wouldnt have wasted the day working out” :)

  2. You can do it babe! And you will learn to love it. And Brinks told me to tell you that he is cheering for you too!!!!

  3. Good luck! I know where my shoes are, but I hate running! I never feel like I go anywhere! If you learn to love it, you can take Karys out in the jogging stroller.
