New Shoes & Still Going Strong!

Several of you have asked me in the past couple of days how the running is going. I am proud to say it’s going GREAT! I am making my goal of 4 times a week (or more) and have gone 4 of the 5 days so far this week. I woke up Wednesday and went running alone at 6:30am! If that is not dedication, I don’t know what is! I was bugging Tim after Thanksgiving dinner to go running with me but he said he would walk – so we compromised and just power-walked the 1.5 miles with three big dogs – so we had a crew with us! I’ve only seen about a 3 lb loss since starting to run about a week ago, but I took measurements also and I’ll start comparing that every couple of weeks or so.

Tim and I both got some new running shoes and they make a HUGE difference on my feet/toes. They feel great. I also got some running clothes as well so I don’t look so dorky anymore :) I still can’t run the whole time and my knees have started to hurt but I can definitely tell a difference now compared to my first couple of days. I’m enjoying going more now but I still wouldn’t use the word “like” just yet. I feel guilty if I don’t go though so that’s good motivation! I also only had one piece of apple pie for dessert yesterday so I was very proud of myself for the self control!

So that’s my update for today. Hopefully I’ll have only have good news to report from here on out! I really feel this is something I can stick with – especially with the cooler weather!
