Running Update

Well, my ankle is now feeling almost back at 100%. Thank God! I was getting worried about it for a while there and was seriously contemplating going to a doctor. I stupidly forgot how I had hurt it twice in drill team and had to wear an ankle brace on that particular ankle. So now I still need to get a new brace.

Another reason for my pain was the fact that the first shoes I ran with for about a week or two were old tennis shoes and I don’t know if they were walking, running or whatever. I never wear tennis shoes. Ever. So I had no idea how old they were or anything. And when I’d run, my toes would hurt. But I thought was normal…. Yeah, not so much. Then, after 2 weeks when Tim saw I was committed to doing this (I tend to give up things quickly) he told me I needed new shoes. Off to Academy we went and I tried on tons of actual running shoes. They felt like heaven on my feet! Holy! I never knew they could be so comfy. I settled on a pair of super cute Nikes that fit really well.

But by that time it may have been too late as I was already hurting (knees & ankles). I kept running in my new shoes and I think I just made it worse without a brace and without giving myself time to recoup from my hurting my ankle again in the first place.

But I am feeling almost 100% again as far as my ankle goes and I have my new shoes to run in so hopefully I’ll get some better results this time. Tim and I actually went walking last night for the first time in over a week. And after I get my new brace I will attempt to start running again.

I just wanted everyone to know that I HAVE NOT GIVEN UP! Not yet anyway :)

  1. Keep at it girlie, before you know it, you’ll be in a Triathlon.

  2. Good job sticking with it…those stupid ankle injuries never heal!

Does Karys keep her gloves on? We haven’t tried them, but the way Izzy takes her shoes and socks off, they wouldn’t stand a chance!

  3. Babies always look so darn cute all bundled up!
I am so glad you are enjoying running!
You should see if there is a strollerfit class close by and join…
