Going Back Again…

To My Carb Free Days…

Well, the calorie counting doesn’t seem to work with my body. It never has in the past but I was very hopeful this time. The only thing that has ever worked for me was cutting the carbs. I did this 4 years ago and lost 30 lbs.

And now here I am again.

Needing (wanting) to lose 30 lbs. I’d be happy with 20 lbs though. Heck, who am I kidding – I’d be happy with a 10 lb weight loss! I bought Dr. Atkins’ book again and reading it helps to reinforce my determination. Now before all of you naysayers go on preaching about what a bad diet this is, know that this works for me. That I am not planning on never having carbs ever again. And it is in combination with my exercise program, personal training, etc.

Plus if you know me, you know I cannot survive the rest of my life without carbs. I’m Italian for goodness sake – that’s blasphemy in my family to give up carbs for good! I think I’d be disowned!

So hopefully this works as well as it did years ago… And let’s hope this allows me to get that purse before the time expires!!!

    Good job sticking to the gym! Remember to eat small meals every couple hours. It really helps boost your metabolism.

  3. Best of luck to you! I couldnt do without my beloved carbs! 😉 I’ve been doing Weight watchers and have lost 31 lbs! (over 6 months) Now, I just need to go to the gym! I hope you win your bet! (I’m sure you will!)

  4. I am sure you will do great! I vowed to slim down as of Jan 1st this year and I went about it the same way you are I cut the carbs eased back into them and I started a workout routine. I am now 20 lbs lighter and I still enjoy my carbs only in limited fashion now. Good Luck and keep us posted on your progress.

  5. Good luck girl! You are stronger than I! There is NO WAY I could cut out carbs, even for a day.

  6. You have to do what works for you! We are all different. I am not a huge carb person, perhaps I should try this approach?! How are things with Julie (trainer).

  8. Good Luck, dear! All power to you for giving up on those carbs. Just today I was complaining about the extra weight while eatting some cookies..DUH! I should really do something instead of complaining!

  12. Good luck!!! I cut out carbs after my 2nd child was born, lost 40 lbs in a matter of months… so clearly it worked very well!

    Then one day I got cocky, had a bagel, and it’s been downhill ever since.

    As of today, I’m re-starting Weight Watchers…
