Such A Pretty Fat

Jen is back! And as always, she has me laughing out loud from the very first page. I’ve already read and posted about her other two books, Bitter Is The New Black and Bright Lights, Big Ass.

This third book, Such A Pretty Fat, was just released last week. And without fail, I am hooked. I would love to think this woman is my alter ego, but I’m just not that funny. At least, not to anyone but myself. And maybe to my 14 month old daughter. But regardless, I laugh at pretty much everything Jen Lancaster talks about.

I. Puffy. Heart. This. Lady.

If you want to laugh and want a light summer read, this is definitely your book. My cousin borrowed Bitter Is The New Black on a plane ride earlier this week and texted me from the airport saying how hilarious it was. She took it to Puerto Rico with her!

Just thought I’d give another opinion in case anyone was interested or looking for a good summer read.

On another note, I did finish Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert earlier this week. I don’t believe I have ever read a book that has touched me in the way that this one did. I notice a change in the way I view or feel about certain things. I feel a bit lighter and happier.
It’s an extremely powerful book and in no way a light read. But I think that if you are looking for something truly profound, this is your book. I am sure I will read it again.

I was also pleased to learn that the film rights to this book were bought by Paramount Pictures and that Julia Roberts will star in this movie (to be released later this year). I think this will be a perfect fit and I cannot wait to see it.
