The Tenth Circle

Many of you had asked about the new book I am reading that I mentioned that I posted about on Friday. It is called The Tenth Circle and is written by Jodi Picoult.

I was not kidding when I said that this book has given me chills more times than I can count. Or when I said that it was so powerful at times it made me sick to my stomach. And I was serious when I said it was wonderfully written and extremely intoxicating.

Having a child of my own, this book affects me. And I think having a daughter makes this book affect me in even more ways. I am just about done with this one and already have another one of her books on hand.

I also just found out from a coworker today that this book has been made into a movie starring Kelly Preston and will debut on Lifetime on June 28th.

  1. Now I’m going to have to go look it up and see what it’s about!

  2. I did not like it very much. I didn’t like how it all wrapped up and especially how it ended and I thought it was very soap operaish in summary. “I did it to protect you.” “I was too scared to say anything.” It reminded me of the end of a Law and Order episode.

I DID, however, like her book, My Sister’s Keeper. I liked that a lot.

  3. Jodi Picoult’s writing is absoutely AWESOME. So REAL and emotive and heart-breaking and I feel like I’m living it. I loved all her books that I’ve read so far: Tenth Circle, My Sister’s Keeper, Nineteen Minutes, The Pact, Vanishing Acts, Keeping Faith (READ THIS ONE!! As a mom, I am SURE it will touch you. It had me crying!) and I think that’s all I’ve read…I gotta go get another one of her books. You’ve inspired me!

  4. loved my sister’s keeper!

have tried others and they just make me emotionally tired!! i feel like i have to be in the right mood to tackle one of her books? does that make sense??

  5. You know what I loved most about it – the graphic novel spliced in between.

I’ll try to catch the movie.

  6. I love BOOKS! I read all the time. I saw that this book had been made in to a movie. I have to read the book first and then see the movies….I am freakish like that! This Book has had tons of buzz lately due to the movie coming out but I did not buy it because YOU want to KNOW my DIRTY LITTLE SECRET….I have 41 books yes 41 books on a little bookshelf in my closet that I have bought over the last few months that I plan on reading…SEE YOU and the SHOE thing….well it is me and BOOKS! lol OK way tooo much info I shared there LOL LOL LOL

  7. I’m glad you like it..thats my next read by her. I just started My Sisters Keeper, which is being made into a movie too! We will have to have a Jodi Picoult movie watching night! lol She is amazing and I cant wait to read more!!

  8. How about I lend you a few Evanovichs and you lend me that one?

    Whatever happened to the Aerogarden?

  9. She sounds realy good, but I read right before bed, so not so sure I should read something so emotional.

I might be up with terrible dreams about the kids, or is it not that kind??

  10. oh I might have to try this. I ahve a list of books I have been meaning to read, so this will have to be added.

  11. I’m always looking for a new book…I’ll have to sneak a peak!

  12. I like to read, so I will look it up!

  13. I will have to check this one out. I LOVE to read! No, I’m not near Katy. If I was, we would have to get together :) I’m in North Texas :)

  14. I have to be honest, she wears me out. I’ve read a few of her books and while they make you think and are well-written, I would love to just have one end HAPPY!!
I read My Sister’s Keeper and that really messed with me being the mom of four. I have to take a break from Miss Picoult for a while. But did I tell you I finally read Bitter is the New Black? FUNNY!

  15. This was a wonderful book! I love Jodi Picoult. she really is an amazing writer.

  16. hmm – I might have to check it out on Lifetime – you know Mom will watch it – she never misses a movie on Lifetime!! :)

  17. Books are great, aren’t they? I may have to check that out, thanks!

  18. Thanks for the recommendation.

One can never read too much or too many.

I will certainly check it out!

  19. When I saw this post, I was so excited to tell you that they’re making it into a Limetime movie.

And then I read the last sentence of the post…

  20. I read My Sister’s Keeper and that was it. I may need to check this book out soon! In fact, I have a beach vacation coming up in a couple weeks, sounds like a good one to possibly bring along!

  21. I have to check this out – also My Sister’s Keeper – I have heard SO much about that book…

  22. New reader :)

I love Jodi–her books stay with you for weeks. My personal fave is ‘The Pact’; I also liked ‘My sister’s keeper’ but the end was too ‘neatly tied up’ for me. I am going to have to look into this one.

    Love your blog lay-out.

  23. I have never read anything by Jodi Picoult, but I keep hearing fabulous things about her. I am going to have to read this before the movie comes out. Books are never the same if you see the movie first.

    Thanks for the tip!

  24. This is for sure going to be my next read. I can’t wait. I’m currently reading the The Last Lecture which I must say is pretty aweseome.

  25. My MIL got me into Jodi Picoult and every one of them creeped me out more than the previous one. The Tenth circle was on the list of the most stressful. I don’t imagine I will choose to watch the movie.

  26. I read this book on my way to Vegas this past week and I found it very interesting on how teenage dynamics work.

  27. Haven’t read any of hers yet, but have a few on the shelf. You’ve inspired me to jump on in to Jodi.
