I’m Dazzled

If such things were possible, I am more in love with Edward Cullen after this weekend than I was before. Or maybe that’s just Robert Pattinson….swoon!

Honestly, the first time I saw the film I was not all that impressed. I thought the sound quality was horrible and was less than impressed with the special effects. It just did not live up to what I had thought it would be.

However, by the second time I saw it with her and her, I was reminded that this was a low-budget film and had some time to think about it more. And I came away loving it. The sound quality was much better (I am pretty sure something was messed up in the first theater). And I think the screaming girls everytime Edward or Jacob came on screen helped the overall excitement of the movie itself for me. If I’d had my voice (still gone from being sick), I would have been screaming with them!

Now, the third time (yes you read that right – third time!) I saw the film, I came away loving it even more than I did the previous times. I simply cannot seem to get enough Edward Cullen. Robert Pattinson is wonderfully delicious. And Tim actually saw the movie with me this time and he was very impressed and liked the movie overall.

I was thrilled to learn on Saturday that Summit gave the green light to proceed with New Moon. Hopefully they will have a bit larger budget this time and put more into special effects and things of that nature.

Overall I give the movie an A-.

And yes, I would see it again.

Thanks for all the well wishes when I was sick. I still don’t fully have my voice back yet but I am feeling much better now. I am very glad to be back. I promise to be around more now :)

  1. Glad you were able to enjoy the movie and have some dates and girl’s nights! I’ll have to wait for the DVD I think!

  2. I saw it Friday night along with 6 other girlfriends and we all LOVED it. The only character I have an issue with is the Cullens mom. After seeing her play the psycho role in Greys Anatomy, I find it harder to believe her in the movie but I can look past that.
I def want to see it for a 2nd time and am so super excited for the 2nd movie. Just hope it doesnt take forever to come out.
And us girls agreed we will be wearing “Edwards Biatches” shirts next time, haha.

  3. I think you might be on to something here! I’ve only seen the movie once and I came away disappointed, due to how poorly made it was. I guess I need to see it again! :)

  4. Wow..a third time..this must have been after I talked to you on Saturday! lol
I cant wait to go see it again too! I loved it the first time, so lets see how much more I fall in love the second time!!
I saw this morning about New Moon and that Twilight had made 70 million so far!! Way to go Edward (and Jacob) lovers!!!

  6. After ‘walking away’ during our first sight…I agree sound system was a bit off! I went with the boy and the girl to give it another chance, cleared my mind of the book and how wonderful I’ve produced it, and just watched it for what it was {Low Budget, Weak Special Effects and Not so great acting} and I enjoyed it a bit more. The kids LOVED it and now Lil D wants to read it!

*Did you wear TWILIGHT shirts to the 2nd or 3rd viewing?*

  7. I absolutely loved that movie!
I think it’s the best movie I have ever seen.
And I so thought the special effects were AWESOME!!
I’m so sad to hear so many people didn’t like it, but glad to hear that you liked it the second and third time.
    Best movie ever!!!!!!!
And I’m so in love with Edward Cullen. Don’t worry, my husband already knows that and he’s okay with it. :)

  8. Stop admitting that you saw it 3 times within 72 hrs. And don’t remind her about the shirts, Lalo-cha, we were spared this time!

  9. I am the same… I cant wait to see it again for the 3rd time!

  10. I can’t wait to see it again!!! and to see the HP trailer!!! I am SO in love with Edward! I want him to be real…

  11. If you wear a shirt on friday, i will not go with you! LOL!!!!

  12. Glad you’re feeling better! I just bought the first book of the series, so I have to wait until I’ve read that to see the movie. I’m glad to hear your review and can’t wait to see it myself!

  13. I am making myself read the book before I see the movie. I just got the book and will start very soon.
    Thanks for the review! :)
So glad to hear you are feeling better!

  14. I’m so jealous that you’ve seen the movie three times already! I want to see it so bad but haven’t found anyone willing to go with me. My hubby said he would go, but we’ll see. I’m so excited for the movie after reading your reactions.

  15. so you finally convinced me to read the book…guess i must see the movie now huh?

glad you are feeling better :)

  16. I saw the movie once…and I was blown away.
    Loved it.
I agree the special effects were pitiful, and the meadow scene was screwed up, but overall…it was amazing.
If it is possible to be more in love with Edward than I already was…I am.

  17. I saw it yesterday, and I am determined to go again sometime this week. I think I will love it more each time I see it.

and I cannot wait until the next movie!

  18. Glad to see you enjoyed the movie. I thought it was slow myself…but that vampire is a cutie!

  19. I liked it better the 2nd time, that’s for sure (other than whatshisname’s being a pest), and I think they’ll throw more money at New Moon. Wish I could go with you on Friday, but I’m told we’re leaving.

  20. Three times girl? Holy moly! LOL I liked the movie and agree for what it was (with the small budget and serious LACK of special effects) that it was still enjoyable. My hubby fell asleep durin the middle of it (LOL) but I woke him up when I knew the action was coming and he really liked the ending!

  21. So in take it i really need to read these books and see the movies? Everyone seems to be on this trend other than me

  22. Sounds like a perfect night. Wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving.

  23. I have to say, that only seeing it once, I was disappointed. Glad it holds up better on repeats.

  24. Wow. Sounds like you all loved this movie. I am a little late on this band wagon but I better catch up.

  25. I am new here! What a great blog :) ♥ Hugs!
